Exciting developments are underway at Riverview Retirement Community!

Thank you to the Spokane Journal of Business for featuring our latest upcoming expansion — The Heights!

The Heights will be a new, four-story tall independent living facility, which will also house several new amenities available to all Riverview residents. There are expected to be 82 units once construction is completed, and the main floor will include a new restaurant, bistro, bar, and large theater/auditorium!

Our Director of Sales and Marketing, Lisa Egger, is quoted in the article saying “The main floor will be just really big community spaces: a business office, meeting areas, lounges, different places for families and residents to get together and hang out.”

Construction of the new building is expected to start in spring of 2026, lasting about 2 years until completion. Danie Monaghan, Riverview President and CEO, is also quoted in the article: “We’re building in response to the fact that there’s current demand, but there’s also pretty significant expected demand in the Spokane area over the next decade…We’ve really tried to be incredibly mindful in what we’re placing in this building to make sure that it does support the greater campus.”

Our new building represents more than just growth; it’s an investment in community, quality of life, and the future of senior living. From enhanced amenities to thoughtfully designed spaces, we’re building with purpose — and with the people we serve at the heart of every decision.

Riverview Retirement Community offers a welcoming, hometown atmosphere enriched by residents from a wide range of backgrounds, including civil service, military, education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. With 163 independent living homes, 31 luxury condos, and 82 state of the art apartments, the community enjoys a lively mix of personalities that supports a broad selection of activities, clubs, volunteer opportunities, and social gatherings.

Residents may choose from a variety of organized outings such as scenic road trips, dining experiences, symphony and theater performances, day hikes, and other local excursions. For those with a love of music, Riverview is home to many resident musicians, and the “Riverview Presents” series regularly features talented local performers. Whether you prefer an active social calendar, a quieter lifestyle centered around close friendships and the community garden, or something in between, Riverview offers the flexibility to shape your experience in a way that feels just right.

Riverview Retirement Community is conveniently located near the Gonzaga District, providing easy access to its many excellent restaurants, all within a five- or six-minute drive. Riverpark Square and Northtown Mall are also just about ten minutes away. We enjoy a central location in Spokane, along the Centennial Trail, which offers scenic walking paths and spectacular views. While our campus is private and has natural barriers that create a safe and quiet neighborhood, we also offer many on-site amenities, including dining, a state-of-the-art fitness and aquatic center, and several large multipurpose rooms and buildings available for residents’ personal use.

Riverview Retirement Community partners with MezaCare, an on-site healthcare provider that delivers in-house care to both residents and patients. MezaCare specializes in geriatric consultations and visits the Riverview campus several times each week. Many of our residents are established MezaCare patients. This partnership eliminates the need for transportation to off-site primary care providers and allows for faster response times to resident needs that require action by Riverview staff.

RiverCare at Riverview is a service provider offering both in-home care and in-home health services. With a dedicated team of caregivers and an on-campus office, residents can easily access personalized support that meets their care needs—right in the comfort of their own home.
