With over 22 years of comprehensive experience in the senior living industry, Danie is a seasoned professional renowned for her expertise and commitment to excellence. Studying at Portland State University with a focus on Criminal Justice and Political Science she embarked on a journey that has seen her leave an indelible mark in senior living.
Throughout her career, Danie has immersed herself in all facets of the industry, gaining invaluable insights and honing her skills along the way. From hands-on caregiving roles to strategic leadership positions, she has traversed every aspect of senior living, earning a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the sector.
Driven by a passion for enhancing the lives of seniors and enriching their communities, Danie established her own consulting firm dedicated to senior living. As the owner and principal consultant, she provided invaluable guidance and support to numerous senior living facilities, helping them optimize operations, enhance quality of care, and achieve sustainable growth.
One of Danie’s most notable achievements is her extensive nationwide reach. Having served in all but two states, she has had the privilege of making a positive impact on senior living communities across the country.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Danie is deeply involved in initiatives aimed at advancing the field of senior living. Additionally, she is actively involved in various organizations dedicated to senior care advocacy and innovation. With a track record of success, a passion for service, and a dedication to continuous improvement, Danie continues to be a driving force in the senior living industry, shaping the future of care for generations to come at Riverview.
Early in Mike’s career, he gained valuable experiences in crab fishing, corrections, and barn building, among other pursuits. Over 25 years ago, he developed a keen interest in the development, remodeling, and construction of residential homes and commercial buildings. Building on his diverse early work experiences, Mike transitioned into roles such as a building engineer, maintenance supervision, and health care security management.
Mike has held various key positions, including licensed contractor, realtor, and certified real estate appraiser. He enjoys optimizing the potential of properties, emphasizing efficiency in processes and project management. Holding multiple certifications, including Building Operator Certification, FEMA designation for emergency response in a healthcare setting, and LEAD Assisted Living Executive Training, Mike consistently upholds high standards in building management. He has led multiple operations departments for many years, showcasing his expertise and leadership in the field.
Notably, Mike’s leadership has excelled in project management, overseeing the successful completion of multiple new healthcare building projects. This experience highlights his ability to navigate complex projects and deliver results in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Beyond his professional roles, Mike finds joy in connecting with Riverview residents, occasionally joining pinochle nights for a game of cards. Mike has been married for 28 years, he is a family-oriented individual and a proud parent to two college graduates. Mike’s practical experience, diverse background, and commitment to community bring a unique and valuable perspective to Riverview Retirement’s leadership team.
Pamela joined the Riverview team in April 2024 bringing 22 years of extensive healthcare finance leadership. Prior to Riverview, Pamela worked for Providence Sacred Heart and Holy Family Hospitals in Spokane for 17 years and was the Chief Financial Officer for Heritage Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho before transitioning to senior living management. Dedicated to supporting non-profit, mission-driven organizations, Pamela has spent her career developing expertise with strategic planning, budgeting, financial analysis, grant administration, acquisition management and accounting. Pamela holds degrees from Walla Walla University including a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Mathematics. Beyond her professional endeavors, Pamela has devoted her spare time as a high school and college math teacher and enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for learning. When she is not crunching numbers, she enjoys hiking and skiing alongside her husband and adult children.
Tara developed a passion for seniors after helping her mother recover from life-changing brain surgery 14 years ago. Caring for others has always been her mission, but it was after spending time in a rehabilitation center with her mom, that Tara decided to make the career change from Retail Management to Health Care. In 2015, Tara brought her award-winning customer service, training skills, and compassion to Riverview. She co-facilitates Customer Service Training and is certified to teach Mental Health and Dementia classes for all Riverview team members. Tara is also a Certified Dementia Provider through NCCDP. Tara has been married for 30 years, has 2 adult children, and recently became a grandmother. Tara feels truly blessed to be in a leadership position serving all who live and work in the Riverview Community.
A Spokane local, Christopher was fortunate to find his calling early in life. At 18 years old he stumbled upon caregiving in an assisted living setting and found that his passion for caring was also one of his greatest gifts. Following completion of his Nursing Assistant Certification, he spent the next 16 years collecting experience by sharing his gifts with the community at a multitude of venues such as Assisted living, Rehabilitation, Acute care, Orthopedics, Surgical, Spinal Specialty, In-Home Care, Home Health, to name a few. His goal was always to become a nurse and after 16 years of collecting experience he was beyond proud and grateful to graduate from SCC, with honors, as a Registered Nurse.
With his new degree, Christopher again began gleaning as much experience as quickly as he could at Holy Family Hospital on the Acute Care floor comprised of a critically ill Cardiac, Pulmonary, Neuro population in need of his caring. Working both Nights and days during this time, Christopher was able to learn and experience much very quickly informing his nursing practice rapidly. He continued this for several years until it was time to shift venues into what became Outpatient Pulmonary Care with Providence Medical Group where after a short time he was elevated to the position of Clinical Lead RN, supporting both pulmonary clinics with his skills and gifts of leadership and caring.
Today, Christopher is more than excited to have joined the Riverview Retirement leadership team as the Director of Clinical Wellness. His focus on resident’s-perspective centered care matched with his vast experience as a caregiver from all levels informs his work to support his team. Additionally, his emphasis on self-care for the caregiving force helps him champion advocacy for our staff and the hands that care.
April joined Riverview in 2016 and has a love and passion for serving others, with over 15 years of experience in rehabilitation and management. Her employees describe her as a true leader with compassion, profound empathy, and respect. Proud wife of 14 years and mother of 3 children. Active volunteer, adjunct instructor at Spokane Falls Community College and board member in her church. She works actively with physical therapy students across the region offering internships and collaborating with Eastern Washington University.

Chef Tony is a self-taught culinary artist. He has had the opportunity to travel to Greystone and Napa Valley to help cultivate his art. His background includes being the Chef at the Dockside Restaurant in the Coeur d’Alene, ID resort and assisting in the opening of five Twig’s restaurants which included the development of their menu. Lisa joined Riverview in April of 2023. Her career started over 20 years ago in customer service, learning project management skills and product management skills. She has worked in various leadership positions but often as the Director of Sales and Marketing at various manufacturing companies. She is excited to bring those skills to Riverview and add healthcare to her career experience. She has an MBA from Portland State University and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University.
Amy joined Riverview in 2021. With a diverse artistic and performance background, she brings a love of music, movement, and engagement. She is passionate about cultivating community amongst Riverview residents by offering exciting and inclusive activities and events. Amy is grateful for the opportunity to connect with residents and their families.
Yvette is an ordained Lutheran pastor who has served congregations in California, Washington, New York, and Virginia. Her experience in parish ministry has been deeply enriched by the wisdom, humor, and faith of congregation members who were in the later years of their life, and she is excited to be serving as Chaplain for the Riverview community.
Becky was previously our HR Generalist and has returned to join us as our new Director of HR on the leadership team. She brings over 25 years of retail management experience, as well as being a recent graduate from Eastern Washington University with a BA in Business Administration and Human Resources and a minor in Medical Administration. Having been a director and regional manager for what is now Macy’s, Inc., she is very familiar with talent acquisition, retention, and staff training. She is particularly experienced in the areas of employee development, collaboration, and teamwork while cultivating partnerships across the organization.
In her spare time, Becky enjoys spending time with her husband, four kids, and new grandbaby. She volunteers as a Board member and concessions chair for Mt. Spokane High School Booster Club, loves to watch her kids play sports, and enjoys spending time with friends and traveling.
Chandra has dedicated her career to working with communities in Eastern Washington to assist seniors in achieving their life goals. She obtained a BA and MA in Human Development from Washington State University in Pullman, with a minor in Sociology. Her professional background includes serving as the Director of Admissions and Social Work in a skilled nursing facility, as well as marketing and administration roles in Hospice and Home Health. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in various boards, community organizations, and non-profits. Chandra is looking forward to launching the RiverCare division of Riverview Retirement Community and serving Spokane community seniors.
Prior to joining the Riverview leadership team, Alan Harbine was a long-time financial advisor with Thrivent Financial. He has a background in charitable gift planning and is excited to bring that experience to Riverview. Alan is a member of St Luke Lutheran Church and has served on numerous boards including Riverview’s Board of Directors. He cares deeply the mission of Riverview as his father is a current resident.
Alan is an avid snow skier and sailor and enjoys spending time with his wife Kellie, his 3 adult children and his 2 wonderful grandchildren. He also loves to travel and hopes to set foot on all 7 continents.
Alan is a 1981 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University.
As part of our heritage, many of our retirement community board members have ties to the various Lutheran churches in Spokane Washington. Riverview Retirement Community was founded by area Lutheran congregations and continues to be affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We are dedicated to serving residents of all faiths. We appreciate all the efforts and leadership of our amazing Board Members that guide our non-profit to provide the continuing excellence in healthcare that Riverview Retirement Community has been known for since 1959.
Rich was raised on a farm in eastern Ohio and attended a small country school. He received his B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Ohio State and has been involved in agribusiness since that time. Rich and his wife Carol have been married for over 30 years and moved to Spokane in 1990. They have one son and he graduated from PLU and is a Police Officer in Tacoma. Carol is a Pediatric Physical Therapist with Joya. Rich has over 40 years with Farm Credit in both the Midwest and the Pacific Northwest. Rich and Carol are members at Audubon Park United Methodist Church and are involved in several aspects of the church. Rich is a golfer and an avid reader.
Rosalee served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML) from 1999 to May 2017 when PAML was sold to a national laboratory provider.
She received her BS degree in Healthcare Financial Management from Whitworth University. She is currently a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and has been a long-standing member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and holds PHR and SHRM-CP certifications.
In addition to being a Board Member at Riverview Retirement Community, Rosalee currently serves on the Board of the EWU College of Health Sciences and Public Health, the Washington Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Executive Committee for the Washington State Patient Safety Coalition. She has also personally been recognized in her career. In 2010, The Inland Business Catalyst magazine recognized her as one of Spokane’s Most Powerful People in Business and in 2014; she was awarded the Prime Spirit Award recognizing her work through the years with children advocacy groups and the homeless. In 2017, she was inducted into the Upsilon Phi Delta Society health care organization.
Rosalee is currently employed as a Professor at Eastern Washington University (EWU). She is a faculty member of the Health Services Administration department.
Connie joined the board as a new member in 2023. She grew up in Montana and received her ARRT degree in Radiology at Columbus Hospital School of Radiology there. She comes with a diverse background as a Radiologic Technologist, Logistics Manager, Phlebotomy Trainer and Manager, Laboratory Auditor for all Long-Term Care facilities that partnered with PAML (Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories) and spent the last 13 years of her career as PAML’s Marketing Sales and Service Manager for those facilities, including the Riverview Community.
She is an avid reader and loves flower gardening in the summer. She and her husband love to travel, and also enjoy much of their summertime, in their RV on the St Joe River, fishing, ATV riding, and doing outdoor activities. They have one son who lives in Seattle with his family. One of their greatest joys is time spent with their 2 grandchildren.
Susan English brings significant communications and leadership experience to the Board. She enjoyed a 25-year career as a journalist, writing for newspapers, magazines and travel guidebooks. She then taught journalism, media law and ethics, and literary journalism courses as an Associate Professor at Gonzaga University for 20 years. Her leadership experience includes serving as Chair of the Integrated Media Department at GU for 9 years. She retired in May 2023 and was awarded Associate Professor Emerita rank.
Susan previously served on several community Boards including the Spokane School District 81 Citizens’ Advisory Board for Human Growth and Development Curriculum, the Spokane Street Tree Citizens’ Advisory Board, and the Whitworth University Editorial Advisory Board.
Susan earned a BA Degree in Journalism from Washington State University, and a MA Degree from Gonzaga University. Her Master’s Degree Thesis, focused on media ethics, garnered an award in the University of Hawaii Carol Burnett Journalism Ethics Contest. She served as Visiting Faculty at The Poynter Institute, a media think tank in St. Petersburg, Florida, and as a journalism ethics panelist at regional and national workshops.
Megan joined the Board in 2022 and brings with her almost 20 years of clinical laboratory pre and post analytical operations experience. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Eastern Washington University as well as her Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning. Additionally, she has substantial training in various process improvement methodologies including earning a Greenbelt Six Sigma certification from Providence Health and Services. Megan worked for Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML) as a Director of Pre and Post Analytical Operations, during which, she was a Spark Award winner being recognized for innovation. She is currently employed with LabCorp as a Divisional Director of Client Services.
Megan’s greatest pride is her family and loves spending time with her husband and three children. She enjoys music, reading, and travel.
David joined the Board in 2022 and comes with a background in forensic chemistry. He served as the Director of Toxicology at Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML) from 1986 to 2020. Dave developed both the clinical and forensic testing programs used throughout his tenure. He played a key role in toxicology project initiatives developing processes that improved quality and decreased costs. Currently, he focuses on opiate addiction treatment facilities giving administrative oversight to corporate development and laboratory testing. David is active as a forensic consultant and expert witness in accident and death investigations related to drugs and alcohol. He enjoys outdoor activities and frequently travels with his wife visiting 11 grandchildren and warmer climates.
Tim is a valuable member of the board at Riverview. He brings a wide range of skills and a great sense of humor, which is essential for the organization. In leadership, Tim is an active participant in the Spokane Lutheran Community, and he helps us stay focused on our mission and vision. His goal is to make Riverview a safe, caring, and compassionate place while adhering to our Christ-centered care initiatives. We are grateful for his support and contributions.
Tes joined the Board in 2024 and comes with a background in forensic accounting and finance. She served as a partner of Resolve Financial Group for several years before changing course and becoming the Market Developer for Thrivent Financial. Her current focus is on building amazing financial advisors and culture in the Thrivent Legacy Group office here in Spokane. She enjoys outdoor activities and frequently takes weekend camping trips with a close-knit group of friends and her adult kids, Chase and Courtney.
Tammy was born and raised in Spokane, and she loves it! She was a faithful member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church until it closed a few years ago. Now, her husband Dan and I attend All Saints Lutheran. My husband, faith, family, and friends are the top priorities in my life. She’s been a full-time Realtor since 1991 and owns and manages her own brokerage, Homes 4 You. Tammy serves on the Independent Brokers of Spokane’s board in various roles about 20 years, including President, co-chair, Vice President, and board member. She currently co-chairs the Independent Brokers Annual Christmas Charity Auction, which raises thousands of dollars for local non-profits each year. I’ve also served on the Board of Directors at the Spokane Association of Realtors and chaired the Communications, Education, and Steering committees. Additionally, Tammy was a board member of the Graceson Foundation (a program for pregnant teenagers) for several years. Currently, Tammy is an active board member, promoter, and volunteer for Mission Community Outreach Center and serves on the Boards of Directors for Spear.
Mark Norton has been active in various industry roles within advanced manufacturing for over 40 years. He studied course work and liberal arts at Gonzaga University and attended Eastern Washington to study business law and information technology. Mark is currently the Executive Director for the Northwest I-90 Manufacturing Alliance (NIMA), and principal of Norton Strategic Consulting.
His private sector experience is deeply grounded in business development, product development, workforce development and strategic business planning. He is active on LinkedIn with over 2,000 followers and is a LinkedIn thought leader with his top posting having over 350,000 views. Mark is also active in non-profit work with STEM and workforce development in K-12, community colleges, apprenticeship programs and under-served communities.
