At Riverview we see a number of people weekly that come and ask about how Medicaid, Medicare and Long-Term Care Insurance work, and what they cover. Today we saw this article in MarketWatch, and hope it answers some questions for those of you out there considering assisted living at a Spokane Retirement Community. At Riverview, we have a what we call a 2-year stepdown, and we have a limited number of Medicaid beds. What a stepdown means, is that we ask for a minimum of 2 years of private pay before a resident can qualify for a Medicaid bed.
