Respite Care

Respite Care at Riverview

Respite Care for Prospective Residents

Riverview’s Respite Program welcomes non-residents from the general Spokane community, including those interested in experiencing our care services as a trial for potential long-term residency. These individuals are required to commit to a minimum 10-day stay, which must be paid upfront as private pay. Guests may opt to extend their stay up to 30 days, at which point studio pricing for room and board will apply.

The base rate for respite care is $450 per night. Additional fees may apply based on the outcome of a nursing assessment, which determines the required Level of Care.

Guests enjoy access to a wide range of amenities and services, including:

  • Furnished living space with hospital bed, in-room microwave, mini refrigerator, and television with cable.
  • Three nutritious meals per day plus snacks.
  • Weekly housekeeping and linen service.
  • Daily access to a nurse on-site.
  • Vital signs monitoring during the first three days.
  • Telephone service for local calls.
  • Opportunities to participate in daily activities and community events.

This option is ideal for individuals recovering from surgery, caregivers, those being discharged from skilled nursing facilities who are not quite ready to live at home with limited support and need temporary relief, or anyone interested in becoming part of our caring and connected community at Riverview.

To learn more or begin the admission process, please contact our Sales and Marketing Team, 509-482-8185, who will guide you through the next steps and help determine the appropriate care level and timeline. Riverview is here to ensure that each respite care experience is safe, supportive, and enriching—for both our residents and their families.

Village Residents – Planned Respite Care

For our current Village residents, we offer up to 10 days of respite care at no cost. While a Level of Care (LOC) assessment is still required to ensure appropriate services are provided, there are no fees associated with the LOC itself during this initial period.

Residents are not obligated to stay for the full 10 days and may return to their previous arrangements at any time during their stay.

Please note that any Durable Medical Equipment (DME) not included in the provided amenities may incur rental fees. Should a resident choose to extend their stay beyond the initial 10 days, a reassessment for a new or continued LOC will be necessary. Extended stays are billed at $450 per day, in addition to prorated LOC charges. In these cases, the appropriate form— “Cost to Enter Terrace – Respite Stay”—must be completed to facilitate the extended care arrangement.

Terrace Independent Living Residents – Planned Respite Care

Independent living residents at the Terrace who require temporary assistance may also benefit from our respite care services. These residents are required to undergo a new Level of Care assessment, which will be billed accordingly. Respite care for Terrace residents is provided within their current apartment, allowing for greater continuity and comfort, and is offered for a minimum duration of 10 days.
