Terrace Apartments/Assisted Living

Are the costs for Terrace Assisted Apartments competitive with other Assisted Living facilities?

Yes! The price for Terrace Assisted Living is based on the size of your apartment and the services you are receiving. It is important when you are comparing Assisted Living facilities that you find out exactly what services are included in the monthly fee. How do I become a part of the Riverview Community?

First you will need to complete an application and pay a $500 application fee to put your name on a waiting list for the apartment you want. If you change your mind, the application fee is refundable.

Can I move in immediately?

Our waiting period varies depending on the type of unit you want. Contact one of our Admissions Representatives for approximate time frames.

Once an Assisted Living apartment becomes available, how long before I can move in?

Your new apartment at Riverview will be refurbished and made ready for your occupancy. The move-in time varies depending upon the amount of work that needs to be done, but we will work with you to make the move as convenient as possible.

Are you on a bus route or do you offer transportation services?

Riverview is not on a city bus route, but we do have a Riverview van we use to provide transportation to local grocery stores, malls and scheduled community events. We also have two wheelchair accessible vans that our staff can help you schedule for transportation to medical appointments.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, a small pet is permitted as long as it does not disturb your neighbors. All pets must be on a leash when in common areas, and you are asked to clean up after them. All pet owners must follow Riverview Terrace guidelines.

Are there nursing services on site?

Yes. Riverview is one of the few facilities in the Spokane area to provide a nurse 24/7 in Assisted Living. We do not take a nurse from our Rehabilitation & Acute Care center but have a licensed nurse dedicated to the Assisted Living all day, every day. Other facilities may only provide a nurse for 8 hours a day or less. We are able to manage most complex medical issues right on our campus at our Rehabilitation & Acute Care facility. That's why choosing a Continuing Care Retirement Community like Riverview relieves some of the stress of having to decide what to do when your healthcare needs change.

How will the staff know if I'm having a medical emergency?

Each resident at Riverview gets an emergency pendant you can wear on your clothing or put in in your pocket. If there's an emergency you can push your button to receive assistance. You can also take your telephone off of the hook and after a minute, it will alert the nurse.

Can I get assistance with medication?

Yes. Our staff is trained in medication assistance and administration. If you need medication multiple times throughout the day, we are right here to administer the right dose at the right time. Medications and treatments are administered around the clock.

Can the Riverview staff help me with diabetic sliding scale medications?

Our staff is able to care for both insulin dependent and non-insulin dependent diabetics. However, our licensed nurse that is on duty 24/7 administers insulin per your provider's orders.

Can you help me with bathing?

Yes. Our Jacuzzi-style whirlpool tubs are relaxing and therapeutic. The jets massage the body to give you a relaxing experience, and help with circulation problems in the legs and feet.

Can you help me with dressing?

Yes. Riverview staff will help you with dressing on a daily basis, if needed. This could range from getting out clothing to giving cues for upper or lower body dressing. Our staff makes sure your clothes are clean, help you get into your appropriate sleeping garments, and takes any soiled clothes to the laundry.

Can you help me with hygiene and grooming?

Yes. Riverview staff will help you with basic hygiene and grooming services such as combing hair, brushing teeth, washing hands and face, etc. Incontinence care is also provided whether that is cueing to use the toilet, assisting to the toilet or helping afterwards.

Do you provide personal laundry services?

Yes. Our staff can wash and dry your personal laundry on a weekly basis. You are more than welcome to use the laundry room more frequently, or if you want laundry services more than once a week, we can arrange that for a small fee.

How many meals are included in the base price?

Three delicious meals a day are included with several alternate choices to suit everyone's dietary needs. Snacks and beverages are also available 24 hours a day to be taken with medications, or just to boost energy. There is a licensed dietician who approves the menus and is available for consultation. We also offer prescribed diets if you have nutritional needs related to an illness.

What amenities are included in the base rate?

Local and long distance phone services, utilities, water, heat, electricity and cable television are all included in the monthly charge.

Do you have special rooms I can reserve to host a party or family get together?

Do you have a guest room available for visiting family members?
